Meet Sam

This is Sam - a two year old yellow lab mix who was found as a stray and brought to a shelter. He is such a sweet and special pup! His mix of strengths and areas needing support makes him quite endearing. It seems he's got a gentle spirit, a touch of nervousness, but also a lot of potential to grow into even more of his best self.

His calm demeanor during his vet visit and nail trimming shows he’s resilient and adaptable. It’s great that he’s housebroken and learns quickly, like sitting beside his foster when called back while on leash. The Labrador side-to-side walk and trust issues with men are things that patience and love can certainly help with over time. It’s heartwarming how quickly he has bonded with his foster family, and the fact that he loves women suggests he can build deep connections.

Sam is heartworm positive and Heartworm treatment can be a tough road, but with LRRoF covering his treatment, it’s wonderful that his adopters can focus on giving him a loving home. Sam will make a single or large family’s life truly bright.
