SOLOMON

Meet SOLOMON

Hi, my name is Solomon. I’m about 5 years old and am looking for my forever home. I love to chase the ball and play with toys. I like to swim but haven’t figured out how to jump in from the side of the pool quite yet. Before I came to Lab Rescue I had a terrible injury to one of my front toes and the doctor decided it would be best for my recovery to remove the toe. Don’t worry, it doesn’t slow me down one bit. Now that I'm fully recovered, I beat the resident dogs I live with to the ball every time!

I have had hard experiences early in life so I am looking for a home that is predictable because rapid movements can spook me. That means I'm not suited for homes with kids or high-energy pups, but I adore the calm companionship of low to medium energy dogs. I take medicine everyday to help me feel less anxious and it is really working! I plan to stay on them long-term because they have made such a great difference in me being able to feel relaxed and comfortable.

I am very attached to my humans and get quite sad when they leave me home so my forever family must have at least one person who is home most of the time for me to have the best quality of life. When my foster parents leave the house I stay in the crate because sometimes I’m a little destructive when I am missing them. I don’t like the crate, but I’ve learned to tolerate it. I bark on and off in the crate so my forever family will need to live in a single family home so I don’t bug your neighbors when you aren’t home. I do much better in the crate with another dog nearby, so my ideal home would have a low to medium energy canine companion for me to hang out with while you are away.

I love snuggling more than anything in the world and always sleep with my head on my humans whether on the couch or bed. I am house-trained, know basic commands, am happy to go for a car ride, and love to go on walks. I would love for my forever family to be interested in continuing to work on my separation anxiety so sometime in the future I can learn how to be out of the crate when left home alone. I’m currently loving life with my foster family that includes two resident Labrador Retrievers in Palm Beach Gardens while I wait to find the perfect forever family for me.
