Description: | Don’t let my long legs and seemingly stoic nature fool you, I’m still very much a young boy (my rescuers think I’m just 10 months old). Once I feel safe and get to know my humans, my playful puppy side definitely comes out. I was turned into the shelter because “the landlord didn’t allow big dogs.” But I suspect that my previous owners didn’t have much time for me either, because it seems like no one taught me basic skills (like how to sit) or that play mouthing and jumping isn’t ok. My foster family is working on that and I’m learning so fast! I learned how to sit in just one day! And I’m starting to be great at minding my manners and listening like the good boy that I am. I’m fully potty trained, good on a leash and am quite good when left alone in my safe space, a small gated room for now. That means virtually no whining or barking from me! At my foster home, I love playing and roughhousing with one of the resident doggies, a Lab girl who is young and active like me. And I quickly learned to let the 10-year-old golden girl in the house have her space. I think I’d be great for a family with older kids or an adult just looking for a loyal companion and loving playmate. I want to keep learning. If you’ll teach me new skills and toss a ball or frisbee regularly, we’ll get along great! |
