Description:

Cactus has a beautiful black coat and soulful eyes. He was rescued from a hoarding situation and is still learning to trust humans; however he has come along way and requires a few days to get used to his new surroundings. He seeks out pets and snuggles now, enjoys playing with his toys and is very food motivated. He has become the fosters shadow.

~1 year old
~50-55 lbs; once he fills in should be around 65-70 lbs.

-LOVES OTHER DOGS, including small dogs and senior dogs. Cactus is great with matching their energy levels. He does need to release his energy since young pup, but he is on the more mellow side and happy to nap with his canine siblings.
-Timid and shy around new people, learning to trust humans (being in a home with another dog would be a big plus for Cactus)
-Good with cats
-Housetrained
-Crate trained
-Enjoys snuggling with his foster family
-Playful and sweet
-Quiet
-Likes to chew on bones
-He has learned to enjoy walking on leash with his fellow pack mates. He needs leash training, but he is not a puller. Has he is enjoying the smells he can walk in circles around his handler or other dogs. He is very dog friendly when walking on the leash.
-Startles with loud noises and would do best in a calm and quiet home

He does best with other dogs and it is recommended that his adopter have a resident dog to help Cactus feel more comfortable around people. He has a sweet, gentle disposition. He just needs time and patience while he learns to trust humans.

*Cactus may do best with an experienced rescue dog owner to help him come out of his shell. A quite home would also be beneficial.
